Most anyone would agree that children need a permanent, stable home where they are loved unconditionally. Sadly, many children are in neglectful abusive situations. And unfortunately, when siblings are removed from such situations, they are frequently split up, losing any sense of connection and relationship with their brothers or sisters.
Thankfully, El Ranchito de Los Ninos is designed specifically for such situations, providing a loving, caring home where brothers and sisters aged 0 to 18 can stay together. Located just south of Albuquerque in Los Lunas, New Mexico, the home operates as a public, not-for-profit, non-denominational organization that provides children with long-term care in a family-like environment filled with happiness, stability and love.
El Ranchito’s ranch-like setting includes a large home for the children and staff, a huge fenced-in yard, and several animals, which the children learn to care for. Children are active in 4-H, school activities and community projects.
